Denver Moore is approaching a momentous milestone and has a notable invitation in mind. The World War II veteran from Canal Fulton, Ohio, will turn 104 years old on May 15, and he hopes that President Donald Trump will attend his birthday party.
“As of now, he’s my favorite president,” Moore expressed in an interview. He added, “And Biden ranks as my least favorite.”
Moore initially shared his birthday wish in a TikTok video on March 23, posted by a family friend. This heartfelt message quickly gained traction, amassing over 700,000 views in just ten days.
In the video, he directly addressed Trump. “President Trump, I will be 104 in May, and I am inviting you to my birthday party in Canal Fulton,” he said earnestly. “I had the opportunity to vote for you again, and I look forward to voting for you in the future.”
Since the video gained popularity, individuals from across the nation, including several reaching out from Africa, have expressed their support.
“It has been quite an adventure,” Moore reflected. He has been a steadfast supporter of Trump and believes in many of the decisions the president has made.
“He might make a mistake or two, but he has done most things correctly,” Moore explained.
Moore resides at the Danbury Senior Living facility in Massillon, a small town located just south of Cleveland. Having grown up on a farm in Noble County, Ohio, he later served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, dedicating over three years to his country.
Upon returning from his service, Moore worked for the U.S. Postal Service and raised three children with his late wife, Thelma. The couple enjoyed a remarkable 75-year marriage before her passing in 2022 at the age of 95.
Kelli Beckler, the executive director of Danbury, noted that since Moore’s TikTok video went viral, they have been inundated with messages and birthday cards from supporters across the country.
Even at 103, Moore’s wit remains sharp, and he maintains an active lifestyle. Beckler mentioned that he can still recite the alphabet backwards, a skill he proudly showcased. “I learned that more than 80 years ago,” he smiled.
Moore believes the secret to a long and healthy life lies in remaining active. He shared, “I have always kept busy. I worked for 20 years carrying mail, which involved a lot of walking, and that kept me fit. Growing up on a farm, we did everything. If we found ourselves without chores, we would create activities. Staying active is key.”
In addition to physical activity, Moore emphasizes the importance of companionship. He imparts a nugget of wisdom, stating, “Marry the right woman and spend your life with her.”
Moore’s birthday celebration will feature catering from Chick-fil-A and is set to take place at the SAM Center in Canal Fulton. Reports indicate that there will be a parade in his honor, celebrating this remarkable life.
While the White House has yet to respond to requests for comment regarding Moore’s invitation, the veteran’s heartfelt plea has certainly garnered attention.
As Denver Moore approaches his 104th birthday, his story serves as an inspiring testament to the power of resilience, love, and community spirit.
