Authorities have launched an extensive search for a 19-year-old college student in South Carolina who went missing just minutes from his home on Halloween night. Owen Tillman Kenney was last seen walking onto the Ravenel Bridge’s pedestrian walkway shortly after 3 a.m.

Initially, police reported that Kenney was wearing a Boston Celtics jersey when he vanished. However, they later clarified that he might have also been seen in a black hooded jacket, light-colored pants, and black Nike sneakers with white soles. Kenney stands at 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs approximately 155 pounds. He is a freshman enrolled at the College of Charleston.

The last recorded location of Kenney’s cellphone was at the Ravenel Bridge, raising concerns over his sudden disappearance.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, Kenney’s family expressed their distress, stating that he was merely minutes away from home but failed to return. They confirmed that the Boston Celtics jersey was part of his Halloween costume and noted that he may have been wearing a black zip-up hoodie at the time.

Community Joins in Search Efforts

Kenney’s mother shared her thoughts on social media, pleading for her son’s safe return. The emotional appeal resonated with friends and community members, who have since rallied together to support the family during this difficult time.

A spokesperson from the College of Charleston informed local news sources that Kenney transferred to the university in January and originates from Tinton Falls, New Jersey. The college is actively collaborating with law enforcement agencies to find Kenney, emphasizing that there is currently no evidence suggesting a threat to the campus community regarding this case.

In another troubling development, Kenney’s roommates shared that attempts to track his phone yielded no results, as it had died shortly before his disappearance. These details highlight the urgency of locating him.
