Major College Football Brawl Results in Suspensions for Over Two Dozen Players

The recent rivalry game between Grambling State and Bethune-Cookman on Saturday ended in chaos as a massive brawl erupted during halftime. This shocking incident has prompted significant repercussions, including suspensions for several athletes involved.

On Monday, the Southwestern Athletic Conference, commonly known as SWAC, announced that a total of 27 players would face suspension following the altercation—nine players from Bethune-Cookman and 18 from Grambling State.

Dr. Charles McClelland, the SWAC Commissioner, expressed his disappointment regarding the violent scene. In an official statement, he emphasized that such behavior has no place within the Southwestern Athletic Conference or in collegiate athletics as a whole. “We’re extremely disappointed by the events that transpired during halftime of the Bethune-Cookman at Grambling State football game,
