New Report Urges U.S. to Designate Muslim Brotherhood as Terrorist Organization Amid Infiltration Claims

FIRST ON FOX: A notable global research institution has published a detailed report alleging that the Muslim Brotherhood has been conducting a long-term campaign aimed at transforming Western societies from within and covertly infiltrating the United States.

The 200-page report, unveiled by the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy, references internal Muslim Brotherhood documents including the “1982 Project” and “1991 Explanatory Memorandum.” This study argues that the movement has systematically exploited Western freedoms to further Islamist goals over its more than five-decade effort to embed itself in American society.

According to the findings, the Muslim Brotherhood, which originated in Egypt, has managed to gain significant access to governmental bodies. This includes involvement in civil rights advisories, entry into educational institutions, and establishing a far-reaching social media presence.

The report details how the Brotherhood allegedly targeted various U.S. government bodies for infiltration. This includes key agencies such as the State Department, Department of Homeland Security, and Department of Justice by pursuing career appointments and advisory roles.

The report also delves into the alleged ties to terrorism associated with the group, highlighting various funding channels that reportedly originate from nations like Qatar. It argues that both al-Qaeda and the Brotherhood share the ultimate goal of establishing an Islamic state governed by sharia law, differing only in their methodologies. The gradualism championed by the Brotherhood allows it to maintain ideological continuity with militant jihad while avoiding overt confrontation.

In light of these revelations, the report strongly advocates for the United States to classify the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization.

Dr. Charles Asher Small, founding director of ISGAP and co-author of the report, conveyed to Fox News Digital that we are now fifty years into the Brotherhood’s 100-year plan to entrench itself in essential institutions across the United States and other Western nations to undermine democracy.

Dr. Small emphasized that the Muslim Brotherhood represents more than just a political entity; it functions as a transnational ideological project that adeptly adapts itself to Western societal norms while simultaneously working to erode them from within. He notes that the Brotherhood exploits the very freedoms of democracy as tools to weaken it, taking advantage of the tolerance and openness characteristic of liberal societies as weaknesses. He insists that designating the group as a terrorist organization is crucial for protecting American freedoms and values.

This week, Texas Governor Greg Abbott took decisive action by declaring the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Muslim Brotherhood as foreign terrorist organizations and transnational criminal entities. This designation prohibits these groups from acquiring land within Texas.

Governor Abbott articulated his reasoning, asserting that the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR have historically made their objectives unmistakably clear: to impose sharia law and establish Islamic supremacy globally.

He condemned the activities of both organizations, claiming they support terrorism and undermine American laws through violence, intimidation, and harassment. Abbott stated that these radical extremists will not find welcome in Texas, and measures have been enacted to prevent their acquisition of real property.

Following the report’s release, CAIR issued a statement denying its allegations. The organization has consistently condemned all forms of unjust violence, including hate crimes, genocide, and terrorism.

The ISGAP report goes on to name several elected officials as potentially aiding the objectives of the Muslim Brotherhood within U.S. governance.

The report accuses congresswomen like Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) of aligning with narratives that reflect Muslim Brotherhood perspectives on issues related to Israel, counterterrorism, and international relations. While the report clarifies that neither congresswoman has documented formal ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, it notes their participation in events organized by Brotherhood-aligned groups and support from donors associated with the Brotherhood.

In an official statement, ISGAP warns that the Brotherhood’s networks depend on state support, which includes funding, education, and media influence. The organization insists that the United States must act promptly and decisively to protect its values and its Muslim citizens from ideological manipulation.

Looking ahead, ISGAP asserts that while a terrorist designation is a positive and necessary step, further action is essential. They are collaborating on a unified declaration from numerous scholars and policymakers urging Congress to respond to the report’s findings.

Dalia Ziada, an ISGAP Washington Coordinator and co-author of the report, shares personal insights based on her experiences studying the Brotherhood’s operations. She asserts that this is not merely a theoretical danger but a tangible threat.
