A 17-year-old British conservative activist known online as “Young Bob” has reported facing both death threats and violent assaults while advocating for the ideals of Turning Point UK. Thomas Moffitt’s latest confrontation occurred on November 20 at the London School of Economics, where he was invited by the university’s Conservative Society to discuss the significance of socially conservative values within the UK.
While reflecting on the event, Moffitt shared his experience with Fox News Digital, stating, “We were invited to speak about socially conservative values. Within about an hour, some individuals took pictures with us, while others engaged in genuine discussions of ideas.” However, this positive dialogue was short-lived.
Following this hour of productive exchange, a group of masked activists emerged. They initially attempted to steal promotional materials from the conservative gathering, subsequently resorting to protests featuring megaphones to disrupt the event.
Mockery and Disruption
Moffitt described the angry demonstrators as not only disrespectful but also insensitive. They mocked the death of Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, a prominent figure in the conservative youth movement, as they sought to force his group off campus. “To them, it appeared to be some form of humiliation ritual,” Moffitt remarked, emphasizing their disruptive intent as he sought to continue Kirk’s fight in the U.K.
Moffitt commented, “These chants felt like a very demoralized way of essentially ridiculing the death of a great man.” This statement underscores how deeply the actions of the protesters affected Moffitt, as he perceived them as an affront to Kirk’s legacy.

Charlie Kirk, who established Turning Point USA in 2012, aimed to mobilize young conservatives across the nation. Tragically, he was shot and killed earlier this year while addressing an audience at Utah Valley University. Moffitt, who has been associated with Turning Point UK for two years, revealed that the activism of the chapter has been fraught with intimidation and violence. “When we report for Turning Point UK and conduct stands on issues such as abortion, transgender rights, and immigration, we have faced various forms of aggression. We’ve had bottles of urine thrown at us, glue splattered on us, and cans of beans hurled at me directly,” he recounted, highlighting the hostility the group encounters.
He added, “In Speaker’s Corner, a well-known open forum for debate, a man threatened to kill me with a knife. I have endured physical assaults, and personal threats of violence over social media platforms.” Despite these challenges, Moffitt remains steadfast in his commitment to promoting Kirk’s ideologies.

Passionate about expanding the reach of Kirk’s movement, Moffitt expressed his determination. “We recognized the potential to replicate the successful strategies from the U.S. in engaging and inspiring young individuals toward conservatism here in the U.K.,” he stated, highlighting a vision for growth in the face of adversity.
Discussing Kirk’s influence, he remarked, “He would have embraced the adaptations of his successful formats in the U.K. We must continue fighting against any forces that threaten our shared ideals. The West desperately needs a revival of conservative values.”

Moffitt conveyed a personal message should he ever meet Erika Kirk, Charlie’s widow. “I would express my deep admiration for her husband’s impactful ideas and the inspiration I drew from him.” This statement signals an acknowledgment of the profound effect Kirk’s work has had on emerging leaders in the conservative movement.
