The family of Florida cheerleader Anna Kepner, who tragically died aboard a Carnival cruise ship earlier this month under mysterious circumstances, is raising serious questions about who may be responsible for her untimely death. While authorities have yet to make any official charges or arrests, the Kepner family is unveiling troubling details surrounding the incident.
Carnival staff discovered Anna’s lifeless body in her cabin aboard the Carnival Horizon cruise liner around 11:15 a.m. on November 7, according to statements from the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner’s Office. Despite ongoing investigations, an official cause of death has not been disclosed. However, her grandparents reported in a recent interview that the FBI indicated investigators are looking into the possibility of asphyxiation.
Amidst the investigation, Anna’s 16-year-old stepbrother has been identified as a potential suspect. This revelation surfaced during a contentious custody battle between Anna’s stepmother, Shauntel Kepner, and her ex-husband, Thomas Hudson. According to court filings related to this case, the stepbrother’s behaviors have raised significant red flags for the family.
“Chris was aware of the unsettling behavior of his stepson,” said Anna’s aunt, Krystal Wright, referencing her brother. The family has questioned the motives of the young man, especially following accounts from Anna’s former boyfriend.
Earlier this year, Anna’s ex-boyfriend recounted a troubling incident he witnessed via FaceTime. He alleged that during a video call, he saw Anna fall asleep in her room, where her stepbrother allegedly entered and positioned himself “on top of her.” The boyfriend reported that he confronted the stepbrother during the video call, causing the stepbrother to flee the scene. According to him, Anna often expressed discomfort around her step brother.
Despite the uncomfortable situation, it has been reported that Anna and her stepbrother shared a room during the cruise, which family members have highlighted in multiple interviews.
