Carnival staff discovered Anna’s lifeless body in her cabin aboard the Carnival Horizon cruise liner around 11:15 a.m. on November 7, according to statements from the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner’s Office. Despite ongoing investigations, an official cause of death has not been disclosed. However, her grandparents reported in a recent interview that the FBI indicated investigators are looking into the possibility of asphyxiation.

Amidst the investigation, Anna’s 16-year-old stepbrother has been identified as a potential suspect. This revelation surfaced during a contentious custody battle between Anna’s stepmother, Shauntel Kepner, and her ex-husband, Thomas Hudson.
