Five individuals lost their lives, three of whom were children, following a catastrophic crash involving a stolen vehicle on Highway 83 in Douglas County, Colorado, on Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred shortly before 4:40 p.m., near milepost 40.5, as reported by the Colorado State Patrol. A Toyota hatchback collided with a Ford sedan in this devastating accident.
According to law enforcement, the Toyota was traveling southbound when the driver, a 31-year-old man from Denver, reportedly lost control of the vehicle. The cause of the loss of control remains unclear, as stated by local authorities.
After veering off the right shoulder, the Toyota overcorrected and rolled into the northbound lane. Tragically, the vehicle ejected the driver upon impact, resulting in a head-on collision with the Ford sedan. The Ford was transporting a 35-year-old man from Colorado Springs along with five children.
