Alina Habba Critiques Biden’s Immigration Policies Following National Guard Shooting Incident

Alina Habba, a prominent ally of former President Donald Trump, and Tom Homan, a former immigration chief, strongly criticized the Biden administration’s immigration policies during a recent broadcast. They argued that these policies contributed to the tragic circumstances surrounding the shooting of two National Guard members in Washington, D.C.

Highlighting Urgency in Addressing Immigration Failures

During her appearance on “Sunday Morning Futures,” Habba stated that the shooting incident involving Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal represents a failure of national security that should have been avoided. She emphasized that the current administration must prioritize the deportation of individuals who pose a threat to American citizens.

“This is a crime that should not have happened. It was avoidable, and that is why this administration is so focused on getting illegals out and telling those who intend to commit crime against Americans, ‘Get out of our country. We don’t want you here,'” Habba explained.

Pursuing Justice for the Victims

Habba assured viewers that justice will be pursued swiftly and decisively against Lakanwal, who, according to reports, fatally shot 20-year-old National Guard member Sarah Beckstrom and critically injured 24-year-old Andrew Wolfe.

She expressed her confidence in the efforts of Attorney General for the District of Columbia, Jeanine Pirro, who has escalated the charges against Lakanwal from assault to first-degree murder. “She will have no mercy as she should not on something like this,” Habba remarked.

Shared Concerns Over Immigration Policy

Habba placed significant blame on the prior administration’s policies, which she believes have led to open borders and increased risks to national security. “This is an absolute failure of the prior administration, as we know, that has allowed open borders,” she said, clearly underscoring her concerns about the current state of immigration enforcement.

Political Fallout and Lack of Response

A representative for the Biden administration did not respond to requests for comment from media outlets regarding Habba’s allegations. Meanwhile, attention remains focused on the unfolding details of the incident and its broader implications for national security.

Details of the Tragic Incident

Lakanwal reportedly traveled from Washington state and executed an ambush-style attack armed with a .357-caliber Smith & Wesson revolver. This information was confirmed through various news sources, highlighting the need for rigorous background checks and immigration enforcement.

Critiques of Previous Administration’s Loopholes

Tom Homan also weighed in on the discussion, targeting loopholes in immigration policies left by the previous administration. He claimed that these loopholes have undermined national security and directly contributed to the recent spike in violence.

“We had 10.5 million illegal aliens come to the border under Joe Biden, and that’s not counting the hundreds of thousands that came to the CHNV program, the CBP One app. It’s not counting the over two million known gotaways,” Homan stated during the broadcast. His comments reflect concerns about inadequacies in border security and vetting processes.

Ongoing Challenges in Vetting Immigrants

Homan remarked on the difficulties associated with vetting individuals from countries lacking effective databases, such as Afghanistan. He expressed frustration over the fact that authorities often encounter challenges identifying those who enter the U.S. illegally.

“At least these Afghans… at least we have a photograph, we have some fingerprints. We never get the records to actually know who they are because many of these countries like Afghanistan don’t have databases like we have,” he continued, pointing to significant shortcomings in immigration policy.

A Call for National Security Reform

Amid the discussions about the National Guard shooting and its implications for law enforcement, both Habba and Homan emphasized the need for comprehensive reforms in immigration policies to bolster national security.

Homan concluded by asserting that the Biden administration has experienced the most significant national security failure in U.S. history. He expressed relief that former President Trump is addressing these pressing issues during his ongoing campaign.

The tragic event involving the National Guard members has reignited debates about immigration, national security, and the effectiveness of current policies. As the investigation unfolds, calls for stricter immigration measures are likely to intensify.
