The Maryland Board of Elections has unveiled unredacted voter registration records belonging to an illegal immigrant who previously held a prominent position as the superintendent of Iowa’s largest school system. This decision followed legal threats from conservative groups, signaling a growing concern over the integrity of voter rolls in the state.
The released records identify Ian Andre Roberts, an illegal immigrant originally from Guyana, who falsely claimed U.S. citizenship during his voter registration process. In a statement to Fox News Digital, Tom Jones, chief of the American Accountability Foundation, criticized Maryland’s election processes, arguing that thousands of non-citizens may still exist on the state’s voter rolls.
Initially, the Prince George’s Board of Elections provided conservative legal group Restoring Integrity and Trust in Elections and the American Accountability Foundation with heavily redacted versions of Roberts’ voter registration documents.
