Posted on X, the video gained more than 750,000 views shortly after its release. It features an ICE agent confronting individuals in St. Paul, who were reportedly honking their car horns and obstructing federal officials as they attempted to apprehend the suspect.
In the video, the agent firmly states, “We are here to arrest a child sex offender, and you guys are out here honking.” This confrontation underscores the ongoing tension between federal authorities and community members opposing immigration enforcement.
When an off-camera voice claims, “No, we’re press. We’re not honking,” the situation grows increasingly charged. The agent then points out a nearby vehicle that continues to honk, asserting, “That vehicle right there is honking and impeding our investigations while we’re trying to arrest a child sex offender. Following the video’s release, Tricia McLaughlin, the Assistant Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, expressed her appreciation for federal law enforcement officers navigating escalating opposition. McLaughlin remarked, “God bless the men and women of ICE and Customs and Border Protection who risk their lives to arrest these criminals.”
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also weighed in on the controversy, posting a supportive message stating, “God Bless ICE,” which was later shared by the official White House X account.
