The conflict began in October when a student raised concerns about the poster, which read, ‘Never underestimate the power of your voice and the impact you can have on the world when you speak up for what you believe in.’ Following the complaint, district officials instructed Loggans to remove the poster, claiming it violated their classroom neutrality policy that prohibits political or partisan displays.
Controversy Sparks Action
Loggans contested the decision, asserting that the poster did not represent a political endorsement. He highlighted the double standard within the school’s environment, pointing out that other political figures, such as former President Barack Obama and civil rights leader Malcolm X, had their images displayed without issue.

A Note from the District
In response to the controversies surrounding the poster, Orange County Public Schools issued a statement reaffirming its policy decisions. The district maintained that the removal request adhered to board policy and was in line with a memo from the Florida Commissioner of Education. This memo warns that educators’ public expression of personal beliefs might erode trust, and if it alienates students or families, it could violate applicable rules.
As of now, the district has not publically responded to follow-up inquiries regarding the situation.
