Caitlin O’Connor and her fiancé Joe Manganiello have bid farewell to Los Angeles after more than two decades. The couple has relocated to Pittsburgh, a decision influenced by the city’s escalating crime rates and a desire for a safer environment.
O’Connor, a TV host, confirmed to various media outlets in December that the couple had moved to Mt. Lebanon, a charming suburb just outside Pittsburgh. This location holds personal significance for both, as it is close to their childhood roots.
The 36-year-old O’Connor expressed her concerns about crime in Los Angeles during an interview with Fox News Digital. She stated that the city is experiencing an all-time high in crime rates. After considering their options for some time, the couple seized the opportunity to purchase a home in Pittsburgh that felt just right for them.
O’Connor pointed out a notable shift in the entertainment industry as one of the factors contributing to their move. She remarked that Los Angeles is no longer seen as the epicenter of the entertainment world. According to her, many actors no longer audition in the city, and numerous casting directors have closed their offices there.
As digital platforms gain prominence, auditions and meetings increasingly occur over Zoom. O’Connor noted that many film premieres now take place in New York, and numerous studios are springing up in New Jersey while major productions are moving overseas.
She added that the pandemic and recent strikes in Hollywood catalyzed these changes, allowing professionals to work remotely from almost anywhere. This evolving landscape prompted O’Connor and Manganiello to rethink their living arrangements and establish their home base in Pittsburgh.
The move to Pittsburgh represents more than just a change of scenery for O’Connor and Manganiello. It is also about a commitment to giving back to the community. The couple intends to prioritize their support for UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, an institution that holds a special place in Manganiello’s heart.
O’Connor shared that the 49-year-old actor first became involved with the hospital in 2011. He organized a charitable event linked to the finale of HBO’s
