“President Trump closed the border and focused on removing violent criminals from our country, which is widely accepted as necessary. However, what are we aiming for now? Are we looking to deport every single non-U.S. citizen? That is not what the majority of Americans want. We need practical solutions instead of politicizing this matter,” Stitt remarked during the interview.

Stitt’s comments came in response to a question about whether Trump should consider withdrawing ICE agents from Minnesota in light of Pretti’s shooting. Stitt suggested that President Trump needs to work out these complexities with the American people directly.
