Conley reassured the public that it is standard protocol for ICE to provide comprehensive medical care to detainees, including children. He stated, “This includes medical, dental, and mental health intake screening within 12 hours of arriving at each detention facility, a full health assessment within 14 days of entering ICE custody, and access to emergency medical care.” This process signifies that many detainees, including young children, may be receiving the best healthcare of their lives in these facilities.
