In Alabama, football transcends the realm of sport; it epitomizes hope, resilience, and a sense of community for countless fans of the Crimson Tide.
The new Fox Nation series, titled “The Tides That Bind,” features devoted Alabama football supporter Tim Esco, who shares the profound influence that the team has had on his life and community, particularly after the loss of his son.
Esco serves as a building facilitator at the Redland Baptist Church in Wetumpka, Alabama. In the recent documentary, he expressed, “Everybody talks about Alabama football.” He continued, saying it brings immense joy and a shared connection.
Tragically, Esco’s son T.J. passed away last August after a courageous battle with leukemia at just 14 years old. Esco recalls wistfully how he always envisioned a future where he and T.J. would share moments over football trophies, gazing at memorabilia in a glass case dedicated to Alabama sports teams.
While T.J. bravely fought his illness in the hospital, several players from the Alabama football team visited him, including standout offensive lineman Tyler Booker, offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor, and quarterback Jalen Milroe.
