This memo, originating from Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought and acting Office of Personnel Management Director Charles Ezell, mandates agency heads to devise elimination strategies for government roles and submit comprehensive reorganization plans by March 13.
The memo specifies that although reductions will occur, certain government positions will remain protected. These exemptions include roles critical to law enforcement, border security, national security, immigration enforcement, and public safety. Moreover, officials who are nominated or appointed to positions requiring presidential appointment or Senate confirmation will not be affected, along with U.S. Postal Service employees.
