Investigation Underway After Vandalism of Tesla Cybertruck in New Hampshire

An alleged vandal faces investigation after reportedly dragging a key across a Tesla Cybertruck parked outside the Omni Mountain Resort and Spa in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire.

Kerri Pouliot, the owner of the damaged vehicle, shared a video clip on social media platform X. She stated that their Tesla Cybertruck was vandalized shortly after their arrival at the hotel. According to Pouliot, the incident occurred within an hour of checking in.

During an interview with Fox News Digital, Pouliot mentioned that police informed her and her husband they would be obtaining a warrant for the male suspect’s arrest.

Footage obtained by Fox News Digital captures the male suspect walking alongside the Tesla. He appears to pull a key from his pocket and scrape it along the side of the vehicle.

As police arrived at the scene, Pouliot recorded the interaction. An officer can be heard asking the man if he wishes to discuss the incident. In response, the accused vandal dismissively stated that he did not know what happened.

Despite being shown video evidence, the man repeated his claim of ignorance. The Carroll Police Department, led by Chief Tadd Bailey, confirmed that the incident is currently under investigation in coordination with the Coos County Attorney’s Office.

In response to inquiries, spokespeople from both the Carroll Police Department and the Coos County Attorney’s Office did not provide immediate comments.

Undeterred by the vandalism, Pouliot conveyed her and her husband’s unwavering commitment to keeping their truck. She expressed that they have ‘no intentions of ever selling our truck.’

The incident highlights a troubling trend of rising vandalism against specific electric vehicles. This pattern has caught the attention of law enforcement and government officials, especially in light of recent violent attacks targeting Tesla vehicles.

FBI Director Kash Patel has initiated a task force aimed at addressing these criminal activities against Elon Musk’s car company. FBI Spokesperson Ben Williamson emphasized the urgency of the task force, stating that it represents a concerted effort to ensure that those who attack Tesla will face consequences.

In a broader context, former President Donald Trump has commented on the recent wave of vehicle vandalism. He expressed a desire to see the perpetrators face significant penalties for their actions, suggesting that they deserve long prison sentences.

This statement underscores the rising tensions surrounding Tesla and its founder. Aggressive rhetoric towards Musk has escalated in recent weeks, particularly from some political figures.

Democrat Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett from Texas recently made headlines for her remarks, indicating that Musk should be ‘taken down.’ Attorney General Pam Bondi cautioned Crockett to reconsider her phrasing, suggesting such statements could incite violence.

Following these comments, explosive devices were discovered in Austin, Texas, increasing the calls for Crockett to denounce the violence and the rhetoric surrounding it.

Crockett later attempted to clarify her remarks, emphasizing her nonviolent intentions while simultaneously advocating for a ‘Global Day of Action’ aimed at showing opposition to Musk and his company.

The saga surrounding the Tesla Cybertruck vandalism raises questions about public sentiment toward electric vehicles, especially those associated with high-profile figures like Musk. The incident reflects broader themes of polarization in today’s society, where attacks on property can also resonate as attacks on social and cultural values.

While the investigation continues, it remains to be seen how authorities will respond to this specific incident and the ongoing challenges facing Tesla as it navigates scrutiny and criticism.

The Omni Mountain Resort and Spa has not responded to requests for comments on the situation. Meanwhile, as investigations unfold, the incident serves as a reminder of the complex interplay between personal actions and public consequences in a society grappling with issues of property damage and personal expression.
