Deshaun Watson has appeared in a mere 19 games over three years since signing a fully guaranteed contract valued at $230 million with the Cleveland Browns. In that period, he faced significant challenges, including injuries and suspensions.
Watson missed 32 games, which included an 11-game suspension imposed by the NFL in 2022. Compounding matters, a shoulder injury derailed his 2023 season shortly after it began. Last October, a ruptured Achilles tendon sidelined the quarterback completely.
The challenges didn’t end there. In January, Watson suffered a re-injury to the same Achilles tendon. Though reports suggest this setback may keep the three-time Pro Bowler out for the entirety of the 2025 season, Watson contests that timeline vigorously.
In a recent video showcased on his Instagram account, Watson expressed determination in the face of adversity. He stated, “Everyone is doubting me. Everyone doesn’t believe in me. They think I can’t get back to where I was. But I believe in my work ethic and in myself. I will come back stronger than ever.”
In his remarks, the 29-year-old suggested he doesn’t “have much to lose” as he embarks on his comeback journey.
