China has escalated its military activities around Taiwan, which a senior U.S. military commander described as more than just drills. Recently, Admiral Samuel Paparo, commander of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, referred to these maneuvers as “rehearsals” for potential future aggression.
During a session with the Senate Armed Services Committee, Paparo emphasized the seriousness of China’s military modernization. He stated, “China’s unprecedented aggression and military modernization poses a serious threat to the homeland, our allies, and our partners.” He noted a staggering 300% increase in military pressure against Taiwan.
