Florida Woman Impersonates ICE Agent in Disturbing Kidnapping Case

A Florida woman has been arrested for impersonating a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent, leading to the brief kidnapping of her ex-boyfriend’s wife from her place of employment, law enforcement officials report.

The incident occurred on April 10, when 52-year-old Latrance Battle approached the victim at a hotel chain while wearing a shirt emblazoned with ICE insignia. The Bay County Sheriff’s Office provided details about the episode.

With a hand-held radio in hand, Battle displayed a sheriff’s office business card and told the woman she had to leave with her. Under duress, the victim complied and entered the vehicle, believing that Battle was a legitimate ICE agent.
