A group of courageous bystanders has been recognized as heroes after intervening to rescue a woman and her two small children from a terrifying attempted kidnapping outside a Department of Motor Vehicles office in Jacksonville, Florida.
The harrowing incident occurred on March 12, in the parking lot of the DMV located on North Main Street.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, multiple witnesses reported seeing a man attempting to drive away in an SUV while a mother desperately struggled to pull her two children, aged 2 years and 6 months, from the back seat.
Authorities identified the suspect as 26-year-old Yanni Human. During the attempted escape, he drove off against the mother’s will, dragging her and one of the children through the parking lot.
