Renowned country singer Reba McEntire and actor Rex Linn share a deep bond that revolves around their mutual love for the cowboy way of life, resulting in what McEntire describes as a perfect union.
As she prepares to host the Academy of Country Music Awards, McEntire reflects on her relationship with Linn, revealing insights while gracing the red carpet prior to one of country music’s most significant nights.
“Rex and I get along in every aspect,” McEntire shared in an exclusive interview. “He’s a better cook than I am, which I appreciate. We both cherish Longhorns and embrace the cowboy way of life, as well as the cowgirl way. Our journeys in the entertainment industry brought us together.”
McEntire elaborated on their creative collaboration, stating, “He’s an actor, and I’m a singer who loves to act. Now we act together, creating a truly perfect union. Although we argue occasionally, we still have fun during those moments.”
When asked about the possibility of marriage, McEntire responded, “You never know. Absolutely, I hope so one day.” This openness reflects her genuine approach to love and relationships, showcasing excitement for what the future may hold.
McEntire and Linn’s friendship blossomed in 1991, yet it wasn’t until 2020 that their bond took a romantic turn. Their connection intensified after McEntire made a guest appearance on Linn’s show, according to reports. This was during a challenging time when the COVID-19 pandemic required them to build their relationship without physical interaction.
Reflecting on that period, McEntire recalled, “We didn’t get to see each other from January 2020 until June 16. However, we established intimacy through text messages and phone calls, something we might not have achieved if we had been together physically. It was incredibly special, offering a unique way of understanding each other.”
Since June 16, 2020, the couple has become nearly inseparable, a testament to the strength of their relationship.
McEntire, a 16-time Academy of Country Music Award winner, attributes much of her recent success to her relationship with Linn. She has taken on numerous projects, including her show “Happy’s Place,” which features Linn as well.
“I didn’t expect it to happen this way,” McEntire stated. “Everything fell into place, including my touring and other ventures. Timing is crucial, and I truly believe that everything happens for a reason.”
She has experienced a “newfound strength” since becoming involved with Linn, which she credits for her confidence. “Once you are secure in your love life and home life, it empowers you to take on larger challenges,” she explained.
Throughout her illustrious career, McEntire has produced 32 studio albums, 26 compilation albums, and two live albums. Her impressive collection of accolades includes 16 ACM Awards, 14 American Music Awards, and three Grammy Awards, earning her the title of the Queen of Country.
McEntire believes in the power of patience and steady growth. “When I entered the music business, I didn’t make tremendous leaps. My journey has been about taking small, consistent steps each year, and for that, I am thankful. This allowed me to build a supportive team around me, providing vital lessons and encouragement along the way.”
As the host for the upcoming ACM Awards, McEntire will share the stage with a lineup of renowned artists, including Blake Shelton, Carly Pearce, and Wynonna Judd. The 2025 ACM Awards will broadcast live on Amazon Prime from Frisco, Texas, promising an unforgettable evening for country music fans.
As McEntire and Linn continue to explore their relationship, fans and followers eagerly await what this dynamic couple may accomplish together. Their shared passions and love for the cowboy way of life not only strengthen their bond, but also inspire many who admire their union.
McEntire’s story serves as a reminder of the beauty in both love and personal growth, showcasing how everything can indeed fall into place when the timing is right.
