ICE officials have stated that the ‘Patriot’ operation aims to reach approximately 1,500 arrests. Among those apprehended is a Salvadoran migrant previously convicted of child rape, who was deported back in 2017. He was discovered living in close proximity to a children’s playground.

In another notable arrest, ICE captured an illegal migrant who appears on El Salvador’s most wanted list. This individual carries an Interpol Red Notice for multiple crimes, including aggravated murder, aggravated kidnapping, and robbery.

Deployment of Resources

Fox News gained exclusive access to the operation, documenting the arrests and the profound impact of sanctuary city policies. ICE deployed 19 specialized teams across Massachusetts, reinforcing its presence with teams from other regions of the country. “It’s not unusual. Due to the open border policies, we are finding that plenty of individuals previously deported for heinous crimes have returned and are living among us,” Hyde explained. “It is our responsibility to locate and apprehend them.”

Fox News also captured footage of ICE arresting a Colombian national who faces charges related to sexual assault of a child, as well as a Dominican male with a past conviction for drug trafficking, now facing local charges for distributing fentanyl.

Other standout cases included a Guatemalan illegal migrant facing charges for aggravated child rape, who had been released from state custody. Additionally, agents apprehended a Honduran individual with local charges for rape, who also had previously been freed from detention.

Challenges from Local Activists

Throughout the operation, ICE agents encountered interference from local activists. Reports indicate that activists attempted to disrupt the arrest of a handcuffed migrant on multiple occasions, hindering ICE’s efforts.

Hyde expressed growing concern about the escalating tension between ICE and sanctuary jurisdictions, noting that these challenges could compromise the safety of law enforcement personnel.

Despite local pushback, Hyde affirmed ICE’s resolve to continue its operations targeting dangerous illegal migrants. “We are not going to back down. It may take additional time and effort, but we are committed to our mission,” she stated. “We recognize our accountability to the American people and will pursue our objectives until every dangerous individual is removed.”
