Savannah Chrisley is standing firm against rumors suggesting she engaged in inappropriate behavior to secure a pardon for her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley. Recently, Savannah took to her podcast to confront these allegations directly.
During a recent episode of her podcast “Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley,” she addressed the claims that the presidential pardon was obtained through dubious means. “One thing that I did want to address are the accusations that this presidential pardon only happened because I bought it or I slept with someone,” Savannah stated emphatically.
She described both claims as laughable and asserted her integrity. “I wish you could see my bank account No. 1, and No. 2, I’m not sleeping with someone for a pardon. … I’m just not doing it. I have more self-respect than to do those things,” she explained. Her strong reaction indicates her determination to refute misinformation circulating about her family.
Just a week prior to her podcast remarks, Todd and Julie Chrisley were released from prison following a pardon granted by President Donald Trump. The couple was initially sentenced to 12 and seven years respectively for bank fraud and tax evasion.
In 2022, the Chrisleys were found guilty of conspiring to defraud community banks out of more than $30 million. However, their sentences were later reduced following the pardon.
Savannah, who has been an unwavering advocate for her parents’ release since their incarceration began in January 2023, spoke about her commitment to their fight. At a press conference last week, she reiterated her dedication to getting justice for them and highlighted the personal fallout of their legal troubles.
“The reasons why my parents got presidential pardons is because, No. 1, they had a daughter that refused to give up on them and that was going to fight day in and day out for them to come home. That’s exactly what I did. I fought like hell,” she proclaimed.
Savannah’s activism included reaching out to high-profile individuals, including President Trump, for a pardon earlier this year after their conviction was upheld by a three-judge panel last summer. She expressed relief that the administration took the time to investigate the facts surrounding her parents’ case.
“I challenged a broken system. I challenged the weaponization of the DOJ (Department of Justice). Through all my relentless effort, they were granted pardons. I was able to get in front of the right people; they did their research on our case. They saw the injustices. … I’m glad the administration looked into the facts of the case,” Savannah added.
As her parents adjust to life outside prison, Savannah expressed excitement about the future. “I just can’t wait for what’s to come … trips … family moments and to make up for lost times. Obviously, it’s going to take us a little while to get back to normal life,” she said, reflecting on their new normal.
During a press conference held in Nashville, Todd Chrisley offered insights into his experiences while incarcerated. He mentioned, “I had nothing to do other than to read and to work out. I worked out every morning at 10:45 until 12 with my buddies there. … I read, and my walk with Christ became deeper.”
Faith, family, and fitness were pivotal for him during his sentence. He credited maintaining close communication with his children and wife as his saving grace during this difficult time.
Todd emphasized the significance of his bond with his wife, Julie, with whom he has shared over 30 years of marriage. “Julie, who is a wonderful, decent, God-fearing woman — and that I am blessed to have been married to and been with for over 30 years now — an excellent mother,” he remarked. Julie was notably absent from the press conference, focusing on their family’s resettlement back home.
According to Chrisley’s lawyer, Alex Little, Julie is adapting well to being home. “A huge part of being home is just getting family time and being together. And that’s what she wanted to focus on today,” he stated, highlighting the couple’s need for privacy and family bonding after their arduous journey.
This press conference marked Todd’s first engagement with media since 2022. The family is now navigating a new chapter in their lives as they move forward together, grounded by resilience and a commitment to heal from their past challenges.
