Trevor Bauer Awarded Over $300K After Legal Dispute with Accuser

Trevor Bauer Receives Court Ruling Against Accuser

A judge in Los Angeles has ordered Lindsey Hill, the woman who accused former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer of sexual assault, to pay him more than $300,000. This ruling, issued on a Monday, is a result of Hill violating the terms of a settlement agreement established between the two parties.

Background of the Case

In 2021, Hill accused Bauer of sexual assault, leading to an extensive investigation by Major League Baseball (MLB). The inquiry culminated in a significant suspension for Bauer. The legal saga continued until 2023 when Bauer and Hill reached a settlement after both parties filed lawsuits against each other—Bauer for defamation and Hill for assault and sexual battery.

Financial Details of the Ruling

The initial agreement stipulated that neither party would owe any monetary damages. However, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Daniel Crowley has ordered Hill to pay a total of $309,832.02 to Bauer. The amount includes:

  • Damages: $220,000
  • Attorney Fees: $68,939.55
  • Interest: $16,634.52
  • Costs: $4,257.95

This ruling came after Hill’s attorneys informed Bauer’s legal team via email that she would receive $300,000 from her insurance policy.

Breaching the Settlement Agreement

According to reports from the Los Angeles Times, Hill breached their settlement agreement by publicly discussing Bauer on various podcasts and during public appearances. Bauer’s lawsuit, filed in October, pointed to 21 claims of such violations where Hill allegedly mentioned Bauer in ways prohibited by their settlement agreement.

Notably, Hill never contested Bauer’s lawsuit, which claimed that she was barred from indicating that Bauer or any representative had compensated her as part of their settlement.

Response from the Accused and Legal Analyst

Judge Crowley awarded Bauer a default victory after Hill’s attorneys stated that they had not sufficiently justified their legal fees in April. In light of the ruling, Hill expressed her indifference to the court’s decision on social media.

“Here’s all I’m gonna say – HE WILL NEVER SEE A CENT FROM ME AND HE KNOWS THIS,
