In this particular episode, two characters invade a Catholic church, where one male character steals Eucharistic hosts from the tabernacle. They consume these hosts casually, with the male character making light of their actions by remarking about eating the Body of Christ. The scene escalates as they begin to engage in romantic activities within the church pews before being interrupted by a pastor.
CatholicVote’s vice president Josh Mercer, who signed the letter, labeled this portrayal as sacrilegious. He challenged Cook to consider whether similar content mocking Judaism or Islam would be tolerated by Apple.
Mercer emphasized the significance of the Eucharist in Catholic faith. He noted, “As Catholics, we have believed for 2,000 years that the Eucharist is not simply a piece of bread.
