The Independent Women’s Forum has reported a troubling incident involving their custom tour bus, which was allegedly vandalized with eggs during a recent event in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This troubling act occurred on a day meant to celebrate the 53rd anniversary of Title IX.
As part of their ongoing bus tour, the IWF hosted an event featuring U.S. Education Secretary Linda McMahon. The highlight of the occasion was the unveiling of a new Title IX-themed bus adorned with the slogan “HER GAME HER LEGACY.” The bus was also embellished with handwritten notes and signatures, including that of McMahon herself.
However, the celebratory atmosphere was marred by the alleged egging of the vehicle. Photos provided to Fox News Digital depict a scattering of eggshells beneath the bus, along with noticeable stains on its surface.
Victoria Coley, the vice president of communications for the IWF, addressed the incident in a statement released to Fox News Digital. She expressed her deep concern over the act of vandalism.
“Following our ‘Her Game. Her Legacy’ event honoring generations of female athletes, our tour bus—clearly branded to celebrate women’s sports—was targeted and vandalized with eggs. The individual came dangerously close to hitting me directly. We have filed a police report, and security cameras captured the suspect in the act,” Coley stated.
Moreover, she noted the concerning trend of harassment directed toward their event. “In recent days, agitators in Santa Fe have made our event and state-wide bus tour a focal point for harassment, but let me be clear: Independent Women will not be intimidated. We will never back down from protecting women’s sports, defending sex-based rights, and standing up for female athletes across this state and this country. Our ‘Her Game. Her Legacy’ bus tour will continue to all 33 counties of New Mexico—unshaken and undeterred,” Coley asserted.
Following the incident, Fox News Digital filed a request for information with the Santa Fe Police Department concerning the police report related to the vandalism. According to the documents provided by the Independent Women’s Forum, a case has indeed been opened regarding this incident.
This vandalism was not the only disruption faced by the IWF during their event. A last-minute venue change also occurred after the original hosting site rejected the group’s principles. The IWF released a statement addressing the shift in location.
Despite these challenges, several key speakers managed to deliver impactful remarks at the event, including McMahon and former high school volleyball player-turned-activist Payton McNabb. McMahon shared her perspective on the situation, saying, “I thought it was unfortunate, but I have to say the event was actually incredibly good. I’m sure for the event managers of the event, it was chaos for them, but as far as I was considered, it was seamless.”
This incident is not the first time the IWF has reported vandalism against its campaign efforts. Earlier, in July 2024, a similar situation unfolded when the group was in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. After holding a rally, members discovered their bus had been egged and defaced with profanity and anti-woman messages attributed to overnight vandals.
Coley articulated the group’s position regarding such radical actions aimed at silencing their message. “Radical gender ideologues on a mission to erase womanhood seek to keep us quiet. WE WON’T BACK DOWN. WOMEN WON’T BE SILENT,” she asserted on social media, responding to messages left by the vandals.
The vandalism reportedly included derogatory phrases such as “Hate Group,” “Trans women are women,” and more, underscoring the tensions surrounding gender discussions in contemporary society.
The IWF’s initiative to promote female athletes and women’s rights in sports has garnered both criticism and support. Following incidents of vandalism, many supporters rallied to express their solidarity with the organization, emphasizing the need for continued advocacy for women’s rights.
In light of these events, the IWF remains steadfast in its mission. They aim to promote female athletes and ensure their voices are heard in the ongoing dialogue about rights and recognition in sports.
As the tour continues across New Mexico, the IWF is prepared to face challenges head-on. Coley and her team are committed to making their voices heard, despite any obstacles they encounter.
This unwavering commitment to advocating for women’s rights sets the tone for their journey ahead. The Independent Women’s Forum intends to remain vocal and visible as they traverse through all counties of New Mexico.
