“Hello Bluesky, I’m excited to join this platform, which has been touted as the new hub for rational political discussion,” Vance stated in his inaugural post on June 18. He later quoted Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas on the issue of transgender youth medical care, raising eyebrows and stirring debate on social issues.
Vance’s message included critical remarks about experts supposedly promoting harmful therapies for transgender minors, claiming these scientists often receive funding from large pharmaceutical companies. His provocative stance asks for public opinion on a sensitive topic that has gained national attention.
Bluesky has become a social media refuge for many liberal users and Democratic figures who left X after the contentious 2024 presidential election, which saw Donald Trump claiming victory.
