President Donald Trump is experiencing a significant surge in momentum following his recent signing of a $3.3 trillion tax and domestic policy bill. This accomplishment marks yet another victory for his administration in a series of significant achievements over the past few weeks.
The passage of the bill comes on the heels of other substantial victories, including a favorable Supreme Court ruling and impactful actions against Iranian nuclear facilities. Indeed, these developments have positioned Trump’s administration favorably as it heads into the July Fourth celebrations.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized the importance of these recent accomplishments, stating that Trump has delivered more wins for the American public in a mere two weeks than many presidents do in their entire terms. She proclaimed it the most historic two-week period in any administration’s history, asserting that under Trump, America is thriving and regaining its standing as a global leader.
The newly signed legislation includes essential provisions aimed at establishing permanent individual and business tax breaks as introduced in Trump’s previous Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Additionally, it introduces new tax deductions designed to reduce responsibilities related to tips and overtime pay.
Notably, the measure raises the debt ceiling by $5 trillion, a move that has drawn criticism from various figures, including Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla. Furthermore, the bill rescinds certain green energy tax credits established during the Biden administration and allocates approximately $350 billion toward defense and Trumps’ immigration initiatives aimed at removing illegal immigrants from the United States.
This comprehensive measure also initiates reforms in Medicaid by implementing new work requirements. Specifically, it mandates 80 hours of work per month for Medicaid recipients, while also expanding work requirements for participants in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, commonly referred to as SNAP.
On June 21, the United States executed airstrikes targeting critical Iranian nuclear sites, involving over 125 American aircraft, according to statements from Gen. Dan Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Following the operation, Trump addressed the nation, declaring that the mission had left the nuclear sites
