EXCLUSIVE REPORT: Bill Berrien, a Wisconsin manufacturing executive, former Navy SEAL, and self-proclaimed political outsider, officially launched his Republican campaign for governor of Wisconsin on Wednesday.
In his first national interview following the announcement of his candidacy, Berrien expressed his determination for a significant change in Wisconsin governance. He stated, “We need to move beyond the six years of Tony Evers, where we have been heading in the entirely opposite direction. This race is very winnable. I can win it, and I can be the conservative governor poised to usher in the Wisconsin century.”
Berrien characterized Governor Tony Evers’ regime as a backward shift from the progress made during the administration of former Republican Governor Scott Walker. He criticized Evers, calling him a “tax and spend” Democrat who fails to advance the state.
Highlighting his outsider status, Berrien remarked, “I’m a businessman, just like President Trump. He is reclaiming Washington, and we need to reclaim Madison for the people of Wisconsin.”
Berrien’s professional background is extensive. He serves as the CEO of Pindel Global Precision and Liberty Precision, manufacturing companies focused on innovation. His campaign priorities center on revitalizing Wisconsin manufacturing, restoring law and order, and supporting Wisconsin families.
“Wisconsin is the best of the country,” Berrien stated passionately. “We produce, we build, and we create with our hands. My vision is for Wisconsin to become a manufacturing powerhouse once again, serving as the epicenter of the success driven by Trump’s re-industrialization efforts.”
During his presidency, Donald Trump focused on revitalizing American manufacturing. Through his trade and tariff policies, he aimed to bring business back to the United States, impacting economic landscapes nationwide.
Trump’s successful 2020 campaign in Wisconsin was pivotal in securing his place in the White House. Berrien hailed this achievement as historic, interpreting it as a sign of a broader shift within the Wisconsin electorate.
Berrien noted, “It is the Republican workers’ party – a transformation fueled by Trump’s leadership. We plan to build on that momentum throughout this campaign.”
Despite Trump’s considerable advantage in Wisconsin, the state’s political landscape remains competitive. Earlier this year, a liberal-backed candidate for the Wisconsin Supreme Court, Susan Crawford, narrowly defeated conservative Brad Schimel in a multimillion-dollar election.
Elon Musk, prior to a fallout with Trump, had invested heavily to support Schimel’s campaign, but the Democrats managed to consolidate their political resources around Crawford, resulting in her electoral victory.
Berrien addressed the importance of having a Republican governor, stating, “This context only underlines our need for a Republican presence in the governor’s mansion.” He further questioned, “How can we implement a military style leadership approach across all 72 counties and win at every level?”
In response to early Democratic messaging regarding potential cuts to Medicaid under the proposed One Big Beautiful Bill Act, Berrien affirmed his support for Medicaid work requirements. He described Trump’s megabill as substantial support for his vision, calling it “wind in our sails for creating the Wisconsin century and reclaiming the state as a global manufacturing leader.”
Berrien emphasized the economic potential by stating, “When you consider the business incentives for factory construction, investing in technology, and enhancing workforce skills, it feels like a Black Friday sale or factory expansion without any coupons needed.”
On Wednesday morning, Berrien shared an announcement video launching his candidacy. His move comes in tandem with other Republican hopefuls, including Washington County Executive Josh Schoemann, who declared his intention to run earlier.
As of now, Governor Evers has not revealed whether he will seek re-election in 2026. He has declined to comment on Berrien’s candidacy, according to inquiries from Fox News Digital.
Berrien concluded with a historical perspective, saying, “Over the last ten years, only two candidates have successfully won statewide elections, Senator Ron Johnson and Donald Trump. We have assembled a team of leaders experienced in both successful races. Our resources and our clear developmental pathway make this the perfect time to realize the Wisconsin century.”
