NEW YORK, NY – Donald Trump Jr., a lifelong resident of New York City and an influential figure in its real estate sector, shared his views with Fox News Digital regarding the alarming possibility of socialist candidate Zohran Mamdani winning the mayoral election in the nation’s largest city.
During an interview in New York City on Wednesday, Trump Jr. expressed his concerns about the potential implications of Mamdani’s victory. He stated, “If what possibly could happen in November occurs, it’s a frightening prospect. Perhaps New York needs a hard lesson to learn from its past mistakes.” His comments highlight the gravity of the situation that he perceives.
The president’s son elaborated on his perspective, suggesting that New York City may need to experience a collapse in order to truly understand the failures of socialist ideologies that have repeatedly occurred worldwide. He stated, “Maybe it has to fail to be able to come back and witness the downfall of these ideas that have historically failed in different territories.”
Trump Jr. made these remarks while attending the New York Stock Exchange to celebrate the launch of his new business venture, GrabAGun. He predicts a significant outflow of residents to Florida should Mamdani be elected as mayor, noting a historical trend among affluent New Yorkers.
“Historically speaking, around ten years ago, 18,000 individuals accounted for 80% of New York City’s tax revenue,” Trump Jr. explained. “Those individuals are mobile; they can relocate at their convenience. A new mayor like Mamdani might inadvertently serve as the best advertisement for Florida’s appeal to New Yorkers.”
