WWE Hall of Famer Brutus ‘The Barber’ Beefcake expressed heartfelt regret over not being able to see his longtime friend Hulk Hogan prior to his passing at the age of 71. The legendary wrestler, whose real name is Ed Leslie, shared his feelings during an interview with TMZ Sports.
In the interview, Beefcake discussed the deep friendship he shared with Hogan, revealing that he had been informed of Hogan’s declining health. He contemplated visiting Hogan at his home in Clearwater, Florida, to offer his support.
Beefcake conveyed the emotional turmoil he experienced, stating, ‘I was going to try to go to his house a couple of days ago. My wife said, ‘You should just go over there.’ And I was thinking, ‘Oh, my God.’ But if I go to the house and they say, ‘No, you can’t come in,’ it would have crushed me. So I didn’t, and now I wish maybe that I had tried to get in and tried to see him.’ This reflection highlights the importance of seizing moments with loved ones before it’s too late.

His wife was about to have a baby, and his son Nick was there too, but he flew to Florida because the doctor said they didn’t think I was going to make it,’ Beefcake remembered. In an emotional recounting, Beefcake described Hogan’s support during his recovery. ‘When they brought me out of a drug-induced coma, he said to me, ‘Don’t even think about it. Brutus, you’re going to live.’ And I did. And he was there for me at the moment I needed it the most.’

Beefcake, known as Brutus Beefcake in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), forged a path alongside Hogan, who also contributed significantly to his rise within the industry.
