Brother of Israeli Hostage Pleads for UN Intervention Amid Disturbing Revelations
Ilay David, the brother of Evyatar David, a 22-year-old hostage, made an impassioned appeal to the United Nations Security Council on Tuesday. His call for immediate international action followed the release of a distressing video that showed his severely emaciated brother forced to dig his own grave inside a Hamas tunnel.
The session of the Security Council was initiated by Israel, which finds itself on the brink of a full annexation of Gaza. This dire path emerged due to the collapse of ceasefire negotiations, compounded by the surfacing of chilling images depicting abducted individuals suffering from starvation.

This clearly shows that while the captors are well-fed, my brother, Guy, and the others are starving in the depths of these tunnels.”
Ilay revealed the emotional toll on his family, saying, “My mother and I could not bring ourselves to watch it, but my father and sister did. The images are now forever etched in their minds.”

Ilay David cited the testimonies of former hostages, including Tal Shoham, whose experience was shared by various media. These accounts reveal shocking details about the conditions within the Hamas enclaves where captives are neglected and deliberately starved as part of a twisted propaganda strategy.

Ilay David concluded his emotional address with a heartfelt message. He said, “We, the family of Evyatar, refuse to abandon hope. We are in sorrow, struggling with overwhelming grief, but we also fight with every ounce of strength we possess. We will not cease until he returns home — until my parents can embrace him once again.”
He urged the global community, stating, “To the leaders of the world, every member of this Council: Your silence in the face of such atrocious cruelty is complicity. I implore you — do not allow them to perish. Act decisively now, before it is too late. Save Evyatar David. Bring my little brother home.”
