Friends and family united at Hogan’s Hangout in Florida on Tuesday evening to honor the extraordinary life of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, who was laid to rest earlier that day in a private funeral service. This touching tribute reflects the deep impact Hogan had on his loved ones and the wrestling community.
The funeral service took place at Indian Rocks Church in Largo, a site where Hogan was baptized earlier this year. The ceremony was intimate, attended exclusively by close friends and family members.
A number of notable figures from the WWE community attended the service, including Paul “Triple H” Levesque and former co-CEO Stephanie McMahon. Several celebrities, including musicians Kid Rock and Bam Margera, also paid their respects.
Footage from Fox News Digital depicted the solemn funeral procession following the service, capturing the heartfelt moments shared by those who loved him.
The celebrations surrounding Hogan’s life extended into the evening as fans and friends gathered at the wrestler’s renowned restaurant in Clearwater. Hogan’s lawyer, Henry Holmes, along with sports agent and County Commissioner Joe Mullins, were among the attendees who showed their support.
The spirit of camaraderie continued with actor Chuck Zito, Hogan’s son Nick Hogan, and Hogan’s wife, Sky Daily, present among the crowd. Their shared laughter and memories brought a comforting sense of community during this difficult time.
Among those honoring Hogan was five-time NBA champion Dennis Rodman, who has a special connection with Hogan from their time together in the New World Order (nWo), a prominent wrestling faction led by Hogan in the 1990s. Rodman shared a moving tribute on social media after Hogan’s passing, reminiscing about their time in the wrestling ring.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Rodman wrote, “N.W.O. 4 Life Brother. @hulkhogan Always and Forever. Thank you for the Memories we Created History. Great Friend indeed. Keep his family in your prayers.” His message resonated with fans, underlining the strong bond they shared.
Notably absent from the day’s events was Hogan’s daughter, Brooke Hogan. She took to social media to express her appreciation for the celebrations honoring her father, while explaining her decision to grieve privately. She shared a touching message highlighting her father’s dislike for the traditional setting of funerals.
Brooke remarked, “My father hated the morbidity of funerals. He didn’t want one. And although I know people grieve in many ways – and I’m so grateful for all celebrations and events organized to honor him, as his daughter, I had to make my own decision to honor him the best and most genuine way I knew how…privately…the way that made me feel the closest to him.”
In a poignant reflection, she added, “The only thing missing today was him in his pop-up lawn chair watching the waves and the sunset. We love you and honor the things that made you so special. Every grain of sand and every wave reminded me of being your beach baby and brought us closer to you. I pray you are at peace and know how dearly I love you. Rest in heaven, Daddy.” Her heartfelt tribute underscored the deep emotional connection she shared with her father.
The wrestling world mourned the loss of Hogan, who passed away on July 24. He suffered a heart attack at his Clearwater, Florida home, following a history of atrial fibrillation, a heart condition leading to irregular heartbeats. At 71 years old, Hogan’s legacy will continue to resonate among wrestling fans and all those he inspired throughout his illustrious career.
As friends, family, and fans reflect on Hogan’s life, they carry with them memories of his charisma, dedication, and the sheer joy he brought to the wrestling community. His influence transcends the ring, reaching into the hearts of those who admired him, showcasing a life well-lived and a spirit that will never be forgotten.
