A tourist from New York lost his life while visiting Puerto Rico for a highly anticipated Bad Bunny concert, according to police reports.
Kevin Mares, a 25-year-old from the Bronx, was shot in the abdomen early Sunday morning in the La Perla neighborhood of San Juan, an area known for its complicated history with violence. The incident occurred at a popular gathering spot known as “Refuge for Mistreated Men,” which is frequented by locals and visitors alike.

Kevin had a bright future ahead, with plans to propose to his girlfriend of six years this fall,” the family noted. “Family was at the center of everything he did, and his sudden passing has left an unfillable void in our lives.”
