FIRST ON FOX: A new contender has emerged in the race for a Senate seat in Alabama ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
Representative Barry Moore, a Republican from Alabama, has officially declared his intention to seek Senator Tommy Tuberville’s position in the upper chamber of Congress. Moore made the announcement during an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital.
Moore, who has represented Alabama’s 1st congressional district since 2021, positions himself as a staunch fiscal conservative with a track record of supporting former President Donald Trump. He was notable for being the first elected official to endorse Trump during his initial campaign in 2015.
Moore stated, “My primary responsibility is to defend the people’s liberties while backing the president in this endeavor. This campaign represents an opportunity to continue advocating for the America First initiative, ensuring Alabama has conservative representation that truly reflects the constituents’ needs.”
Addressing the spiraling national debt, a pressing concern for him, Moore pointed out that it has approached an alarming $37 trillion, according to the Fox Business National Debt Tracker. He emphasized that significant reforms are necessary to tackle this issue head-on.
