MSNBC will soon transition to a new identity as part of Comcast’s strategic spin-off from NBC Universal, a shift revealed in a recent announcement by the company. This significant development is being widely reported, including by the Wall Street Journal.
The newly adopted name for the left-leaning news network is set to be “My Source News Opinion World,” abbreviated as MS NOW. This branding change marks a pivotal moment for the network, which has been a prominent player in the media landscape.
In addition to MSNBC, other channels are also part of this spin-off, including CNBC, USA Network, Oxygen, and E!. While CNBC will retain its name, the network is expected to unveil a new logo in the wake of this separation from NBC Universal. Such developments reflect a strategic effort to distinguish these channels from their parent company.
Cesar Conde, who currently leads the NBCUniversal News Group, will continue in his role. Following the spin-off, this group will solely comprise NBC News, the NBC News Now streaming service, Telemundo, and various owned-and-operated local stations. The organizational shift signals a new direction for the entertainment and news landscape.
