Rep. Jasmine Crockett, a Democrat from Texas, expressed strong condemnation of President Donald Trump and his supporters during a recent interview on a podcast hosted by California Governor Gavin Newsom. Crockett labeled Trump’s followers as unpatriotic and criticized the former president for his actions while in office.
In her remarks, Crockett highlighted Trump’s pattern of leveraging Congress, the courts, and his administration whenever he faced opposition. She explained that his desperation to secure victories in upcoming midterm elections stems from a desire to manipulate the political landscape for his benefit.
Crockett stated, “Whether we’re discussing Trump’s administration, the judiciary, or Congress, his consistent attempts to exert influence reflect a troubling disregard for democratic values. For us, it’s not about partisanship but about what is right for America.”
Furthermore, she did not hold back her criticism of the MAGA movement. “You can wave all the flags you want, but the most unpatriotic individuals in this country are those who support Trump. Crockett challenged Trump’s fidelity to American values, remarking, “You cannot claim to cherish the Constitution while you are systematically dismantling it with each executive order. In contrast, White House Assistant Press Secretary Liz Huston defended Trump, stating he leads “the most patriotic political movement in history.” This rebuttal came as tensions between Crockett and Trump heightened, with both exchanging sharp barbs over the past months.
Crockett’s commentary aligns with her broader sentiment that regardless of political ideology, Americans should collectively oppose Trump. In previous interviews, including one with noted journalist Katie Couric, she claimed that anyone who supported Trump was suffering from a deficiency in ethical judgment.
When asked her thoughts on Trump deploying National Guard troops to manage anti-ICE protests in Los Angeles, Crockett replied with fervor. She described Trump’s team as a
