Trump Criticizes ABC and NBC News, Proposes License Revocation Amid Claims of Bias
In a recent late-night social media tirade, President Trump launched a critique against ABC and NBC News, labeling their coverage as biased. He expressed willingness to support the Federal Communications Commission in revoking the licenses of these news organizations, which he believes are detrimental to democracy.
The Republican president claimed that he perceived negative coverage in 97 percent of stories presented by these outlets. This particular statistic has drawn skepticism due to its lack of verifiable sourcing. A study released earlier this year by the Media Research Center, which is known for its conservative stance, indicated that Trump received 92 percent negative coverage during his initial 100 days in office.
“IF THAT IS THE CASE,” Trump emphasized in his typical all-caps style, “THEY ARE SIMPLY AN ARM OF THE DEMOCRAT PARTY AND SHOULD, ACCORDING TO MANY, HAVE THEIR LICENSES REVOKED.”
His attack did not end there. Trump reiterated his belief that these news networks are substantially biased and misleading, labeling them as an actual threat to democracy in the United States. He offered staunch support for their license removal, arguing that their nature of reporting warrants such drastic measures.
