Jermaine Mathews, aged 39, has been indicted on serious federal drug conspiracy charges, as confirmed by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio in a release issued on Monday afternoon.
According to the superseding indictment, Mathews allegedly conspired to distribute and possess with intent to distribute over 40 grams of fentanyl. Additionally, he is charged with operating a residence on Kenton Street in Cincinnati for narcotics trafficking purposes, revealed United States Attorney Dominick S. Gerace II.
Mathews, identified as a key organizer of the downtown brawl, had previously been released on bond after local charges of aggravated riot and assault. Authorities apprehended him today with the support of federal agents and officials from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
