Retired Army Sergeant Michael Verardo, renowned for being one of America’s most gravely injured veterans from the post-9/11 era, received a heartfelt farewell with full military honors on Tuesday at Weddington Methodist Church in North Carolina. Family, friends, fellow soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division, and dignitaries gathered to pay tribute to a soldier, husband, and father whose spirit inspired countless individuals across the nation.
