Priscilla Presley is pushing back against serious allegations made in a $50 million lawsuit filed by her former business associates, Brigitte Kruse and Kevin Fialko. The lawsuit, which has garnered considerable media attention, claims that Priscilla played a role in the death of her famous husband, Elvis Presley.
On Friday, Kruse and Fialko amended their lawsuit to assert that Priscilla was dissatisfied with the divorce agreement she reached with Elvis. The lawsuit claims, “Despite enriching herself and extorting millions of dollars from Elvis, she then placed a lien on Graceland on or around April 29, 1977, in the amount of $494,024.49, adding pressure to Elvis less than four months before he died.” This assertion attempts to connect Priscilla’s financial moves directly to Elvis’s mental stress leading up to his untimely death.
In response to these claims, Priscilla’s attorney, Marty Singer, issued a forceful statement. He described the accusations as absurd and emphasized that Priscilla has had no involvement in any conspiracy theories, dismissing them as outrageous. He stated, “Priscilla did not have anything to do with the assassination of JFK, she did not cover up Area 51, she did not fake the moon landing, and she is not secretly keeping Bigfoot locked in a cabin in Canada. Take off the aluminum foil hat and face reality.” Singer positioned the lawsuit as an attack on Priscilla’s character rather than a legitimate legal claim.
The crux of Kruse and Fialko’s lawsuit appears to center on allegations of elder abuse and financial exploitation. They argue that Priscilla is a manipulative individual who has exploited the Presley legacy for her own gain. Kruse’s legal representative, Jordan Matthews, mentioned that the allegations against Priscilla reflect a pattern of deceitful behavior, stating, “Apparently, Ms. Presley’s defense is to list off nonsense hyperbolic statements that have no substance. The documents are in black and white and speak volumes.” Matthews highlighted that Priscilla has not provided any evidence to counter their claims, suggesting that they intend to pursue accountability for what they label as reckless behavior.
Kruse and Fialko describe Priscilla as a calculated and deceptive individual, likening her to a pit viper willing to prey upon her own family. Among several accusations, the lawsuit suggests that Priscilla acted opportunistically during stressful family moments. For example, they posit that she attempted to manipulate decisions surrounding her late daughter, Lisa Marie Presley’s, health care, alleging that Priscilla pulled her off life support against her daughter’s wishes in order to regain control over Elvis’s estate.
The lawsuit references a significant moment occurring shortly before the passing of Lisa Marie Presley. According to the legal documents, Priscilla rushed to West Hills Hospital, where Lisa was admitted, and acted contrary to Lisa’s perceived directives regarding her care. The lawsuit claims that Priscilla, rather than honoring Lisa’s wishes, seized a moment to exert control over the family’s assets, particularly as Lisa was reportedly in the process of removing her mother as a trustee from a multimillion-dollar trust.
Riley Keough, Lisa Marie’s daughter, is at the center of this evolving narrative. Post Lisa Marie’s death, Riley has inherited a substantial stake in the Presley estate. According to court documents, Riley informed Priscilla that she had intervened to prevent her mother from taking legal action against her former spouse. In an emotionally charged email, Riley indicated her distress at being contacted about the will so soon after her mother’s passing, emphasizing the emotional turmoil surrounding these family disputes.
Amid the allegations, Priscilla has also filed her own lawsuit against Kruse and Fialko. In her suit, she claims that they isolated her from trusted advisors and tricked her into signing contracts, including documents that forfeited her control over her name and likeness. She argues that these actions exemplify classic elder abuse.
On the other hand, Kruse and Fialko maintain that the elder abuse narrative is a manipulative fabrication meant to shield Priscilla from accountability and disrupt their legal claims. As the legal battle intensifies, both parties are asserting competing narratives about the intentions and actions of the other.
The stakes in this legal confrontation are incredibly high, with Kruse and Fialko demanding damages surpassing $50 million. Meanwhile, Priscilla has expressed her determination to hold her former associates accountable for what she characterizes as wrongful actions against her.
As this case unfolds, it continues to shed light on the complexities of family dynamics in the wake of celebrity death and inheritance battles. With both sides packing their arguments with emotional claims and aggressive rhetoric, the outcome of this case may have lasting implications on the legacies involved.
