Hollywood Figures Unite to Boycott Israeli Film Institutions in Solidarity with Palestinian Filmmakers

In a significant move, over 1,000 members of the Hollywood community, including prominent figures like Emma Stone and Mark Ruffalo, have pledged to boycott Israeli film institutions. This action follows a growing advocacy led by Film Workers for Palestine.

Call for Action Against Silence

The pledge emphasizes responding to the appeals from Palestinian filmmakers who have urged the global film industry to refuse complicity in oppression characterized by racism and dehumanization. They call upon their counterparts in the industry to ‘do everything humanly possible’ to end the silence suppressing these issues.

The association insists that they actively collaborate with Palestinian creators to foster peace and further described the boycott call as profoundly misguided.

Mark Ruffalo’s commitment to social justice extends beyond this boycott. In past events, he has openly supported former Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election and participated in a protest dubbed
