Actor Eric Stonestreet, renowned for his role in the hit series “Modern Family,” recently tied the knot with his long-term partner, Lindsay Schweitzer. The couple exchanged vows at their Kansas City residence, marking a significant milestone in their relationship.
On his special day, Stonestreet joyfully took to social media, posting a heartfelt message. He celebrated both his birthday and his wedding day with a caption that read, “It’s my birthday and guess what I got,” accompanied by a collection of moments from their wedding festivities.
The intimate ceremony took place at their newly constructed home in Kansas City, Missouri. Stonestreet’s fellow castmate from “Modern Family,” Jesse Tyler Ferguson, commented on the occasion, expressing happiness for the couple. Ferguson noted, “Of all second marriages, this one is my favorite! I love you both! I’m so happy for you!!!!” showcasing the supportive spirit of the actor’s circle.
Back in July, Stonestreet shared his vision of hosting a wedding at their home. In an interview, he revealed, “Well, I’ve said we’re building a house to host a wedding, and we’re still on track to do that. We’re almost done with the house, and that’s been our plan all along.” This commitment to creating a solid foundation for their life together underscores their deep bond.
Stonestreet proposed to Schweitzer in 2021 after five enriching years of dating. He expressed his feelings, stating, “We’ve been together for a long time and I just knew I wasn’t going to find a better partner in life than Lindsay. So it just made the most sense.” His thoughtful reflections reveal not just the love he has for Schweitzer but also the careful consideration behind his decision to propose.
Having gained fame through his role in “Modern Family,” which aired for 11 successful seasons from 2009 to 2020, Stonestreet’s journey has been remarkable. After meeting Schweitzer at the Big Slick charity event in 2016, they maintained a long-distance relationship while he completed filming the show. When the series concluded in 2020, Stonestreet made the choice to return to Kansas City, emphasizing his connection to his roots.
Last year, Stonestreet candidly shared his thoughts on the entertainment industry during an interview. Discussing his experiences, he pointed out the contrasts between Hollywood and the Midwest. “What I realized it does is it highlights everything great about our business, the entertainment business,” he noted. However, he also addressed the less favorable aspects, stating, “It highlights all the d—–baggery of our business,” illustrating the mixed emotions associated with Hollywood.
Stonestreet recounted the genuine interactions he has experienced in Kansas City compared to Hollywood. “I’m going into the store and having all these authentic, real moments,” he remarked, contrasting this with his encounters in Los Angeles. He captured the essence of how living in the Midwest has profoundly influenced his perspective on life and relationships.
Despite harboring the ambition that drove him to Hollywood, Stonestreet acknowledged the unique perks of city life. He humorously described the experience of dining in Los Angeles, saying, “But then you’re also offered fruit on a big board. ‘Would you like some lychee and kiwi, sir?’” He highlighted how the glamour associated with Hollywood can often amplify the fun, yet he finds a unique joy in his life back home.
As the couple begins their married life, the warmth shown by friends and family adds to the celebratory atmosphere. This marriage signifies a new chapter for Stonestreet and Schweitzer, filled with hopes and dreams. The depth of their partnership reflects not only in their public moments but also in the promise they hold for their future together.
With their wedding marking a blend of personal milestones and professional reflections, Stonestreet and Schweitzer’s story serves as an inspiration to many. Their commitment underscores the importance of authenticity in relationships, whether in the glitzy world of Hollywood or the comforting familiarity of Kansas City.
