Chard remarked that transitioning into the role of a working royal is not as enchanting as it appears. Grant Harrold, a former royal butler who served King Charles from 2004 to 2011, elaborated on Markle’s struggles in adjusting to royal life. Recently, he released a book titled “The Royal Butler” where he discusses the complexities of serving the royals. In a recent interview with the New York Post, he revealed that there were instances when Markle preferred socializing over formal obligations. Harrold recounted an occasion when she wanted to host a lunch with friends on a day dedicated to royal duties.

Harrold noted that while Markle might have considered such plans acceptable, the scheduling for royal engagements is meticulously arranged months in advance. Deviating from this schedule can have significant repercussions.
