His return to acting came in 2003 when he appeared on shows like Law & Order, The Mindy Project, and Fuller House. More recently, he appeared in the film I’ll Be Right There.
Grandy was married to Jan Gough from 1969 to 1983, with whom he had two children. He later married Catherine Mann in 1987, and they share one child.

He gained recognition through television roles on programs like Get Smart and Bewitched.
