Hunt shared a post from Libs of TikTok that highlighted a University of Kansas employee who faced no consequences for inappropriate comments about Kirk, who was shot and killed at a Utah Valley University event nearly two weeks ago.
In her Instagram stories, Hunt expressed profound disappointment, stating, “When a man’s life ended in public for having different beliefs, leaving a wife without a husband and two children without a father, and you dismiss it or celebrate it, that has nothing to do with who he was. That is a reflection of who you are.”

Erika continued, “My husband, Charlie, wanted to save young men, just like the one who took his life. That young man. That young man on the cross. Our Savior said that. Father. Forgive them, for they know not what they do. You, that man. That young man. I forgive him. I forgive him because it was what Christ did. And is what Charlie would do. The answer to hate is not hate. The answer we know from the gospel is love and always love. Love for our enemies and love for those who persecute us.”
