Darius McCrary Arrested at U.S.-Mexico Border Facing Felony Charges

Actor Darius McCrary, known for his role as Eddie Winslow on the beloved 90s sitcom “Family Matters,” was apprehended near the U.S.-Mexico border in California. This incident occurred on Sunday, October 5, when U.S. Border Patrol officials arrested him on felony charges. Currently, McCrary remains in a San Diego jail awaiting further legal proceedings and is not eligible for bail as he faces a “fugitive arrest”.

According to reports, McCrary’s representative, Ann Barlow, clarified that his arrest unfolded while he was collaborating with a real estate developer on a project aimed at constructing homes for homeless individuals in Tijuana, Mexico. In this context, Barlow stated that McCrary was performing a noble deed when he unexpectedly discovered he had an outstanding felony warrant stemming from a missed court appearance.

Details of the Warrant

The felony warrant reportedly relates to a child support dispute. Barlow explained that Oakland County had sent a notice for McCrary to appear in court to his P.O. Box, providing him with a mere three days to respond. Unfortunately, due to contracting COVID-19, McCrary was unable to check his mailbox until the day after the scheduled court date.
