President Donald Trump begins his week in the Middle East, focusing on a groundbreaking peace agreement between Israel and Hamas. This pivotal deal aims to conclude the two-year conflict in Gaza and secure the return of remaining hostages.
Before his departure on Air Force One, Trump addressed reporters, indicating that the release of hostages might occur sooner than expected. He praised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his effective role in facilitating the agreement.

“The war is over,” Trump stated to the press at Joint Base Andrews before embarking on his nearly 12-hour flight to Israel. Upon arrival in Tel Aviv, he plans to meet with families of the hostages and deliver a speech at the Knesset, Israel’s parliament, located in Jerusalem.
Following his time in Israel, Trump will head to Egypt for an international summit in the coastal city of Sharm el-Sheikh, scheduled for Monday. This summit aims to finalize the peace agreement intended to end the hostilities in Gaza. An Egyptian presidential spokesperson mentioned that over 20 world leaders, including Trump, are expected to participate.
After a brief stay in Israel and Egypt, Trump will return to the White House early Tuesday morning. He will do so to honor the late Charlie Kirk with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor.

The award presentation coincides with what would have been Kirk’s 32nd birthday on October 14.
