As I pen this message, my heart is heavy with anguish. For nearly 500 days, I have endured a nightmare that no mother should experience. My eldest son, Alon, recently marked his 24th birthday in the dark tunnels of Hamas, enduring chains, torture, and abuse. This marks his second birthday spent in captivity.
Alon is more than just a son to me. He is also a brother to two younger siblings. With his striking blond hair and vibrant green eyes, he stands out. A gifted pianist, Alon possesses a sensitivity that drives him towards his dreams. Known for his ability to connect with others, he inspires me daily. I deeply miss his infectious smile, the warmth of his voice, our conversations about life, and the determination with which he navigates the world.
